Our
engineer, Evan McGregor, brings more than twelve years of
live sound and recording experience to the studio. An
accomplished musician, Evan has studied classical violin,
symphonic percussion, and traditional fiddle. He has also spent
the past thirteen years touring and recording with regionally
and nationally recognized bluegrass bands. Currently acts
as full time fiddle player for Joe Mullins & The Radio Ramblers.
As an engineer, Evan learned proper studio procedure by
observing and assisting the engineers while working on projects
with various bands. After thoroughly researching current
recording methods and technologies, Evan realized that he could
bring “big studio” recording quality to a comfortable, intimate
recording environment. The result is Oscar Fish Studio, founded
in October 2005. As primary recording engineer, Evan has
tracked, mixed, and mastered projects for artists in the Miami
Valley. Evan relies on his musical training and keen ear for
intonation, rhythm, tones, and timbres as he works with
musicians in the studio. He approaches every project with the
goals of making the final product sound balanced and natural,
and of making the recording experience enjoyable for the artists
involved. In addition to his busy recording schedule, Evan
continues to research trade publications in order to keep Oscar
Fish Studio up-to-date on the latest recording trends,
techniques, and technology.
